The "Atelier auf Zeit" has taken place annually since 1995 and serves to promote artists in and from the region. Anke Baumeister (*1949) studied painting and sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1971 to 1974. Her focus is on scriptural painting. She arranges the transfer of texts into paintings (e.g. overwritten diary texts) in installations that seem to float through space like words. With this artist, we present a position which, like Thomas Kaminsky (exhibition March to May 2007), seeks its own path in the tradition of informal painting and écriture automatique in installative painting.
