20 years art association Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim

Anniversary celebration

on September 14, 2014
and exhibition "Palette 20" until 28 September 2014

The Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim, founded in 1993, began its work in 1994. Since 1995 it has been working in one of the most beautiful houses in the city, which was built in 1750. In it the Kunstverein has so far shown over 90 exhibitions of national and international artists. In addition, 27 regional artists received a public forum in the parallel program.
 
Especially for the anniversary, members of the Kunstverein produced 20 works on Euro-pallets (in the format 60 x 80 cm). Under the title "Palette20" these works can be seen until 28.09.14. (Works by A. and R. Baumeister, Inge Clemens, Hans Elbeshausen, Irmgard Fillinger, Petra Hel-Börger, Siegfried Hentke, Ilse Kampen, Torsten Kaufmann, Ellen Korth/Herman Bessels, Helga Lindschulte, Maren Massier, Gundula Pötter, Inge Sauvadet, Martin Schröer and H.-J. Sindermann).

A highlight of the day was the performance of Heike Pfingsten and her colleague Jósef R. Huhász from Budapest.

Participants of the panel discussion were Meike Behm (Kunstverein Lingen and board of directors of the AdKV, Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine), Timm Ulrichs (artist, professor emeritus of the Kunstakademie Münster and kunstwegen-artist, among others with "Der Findling"), Stefan Rasche (gallery owner, Berlin) and city director Johann Arends (Neuenhaus). The discussion revolved around the question of how to continue the tried and tested and how to deal with the challenges of the constantly new. Katharina Pasternak (Nordhorn) and the brass group of the Neuenhauser Schützenverein accompanied the festive day musically.

Culinary delights were provided by a team from the Kunstverein under the direction of Wilhelmina Gasior.

The 120-page catalogue "20 Jahre Kunstverein" was published to mark the anniversary. Together with the catalogue "10 Years Kunstverein" an overview of the years 1994 to 2014 is documented.

The project is supported by the city of Neuenhaus, the county of Grafschaft Bentheim and the Emsländische Landschaft e.V. for the counties of Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim.
