Welcome: Gudrun Thiessen-Schneider (Art Director)
Greeting: Josef Brüggemann (Vice President Emsland Landscape e.V.)
Introduction: Lena Hartmann (MA), Osnabrück
Anja Buchheister is this year's winner of the artists' grant of the Emsländische Landschaft. She spent the second part of her four-month working stay in the "temporary studio" in the rooms of the Kunstverein.
The Emsländische Landschaft e.V. would like to support young up-and-coming artists from the catchment area of the Emsländische Landschaft with its artist's grant, which it has been awarding every two years since 2006, and support their artistic development.
There are about 20 works that Buchheister created during her stays in Neuenhaus and Papenburg. Starting from her extensive picture archive, she worked on individual motifs by changing proportions and perspectives. Through an exciting alternation between two- and three-dimensionality, she creates her very own realities. For example, Buchheister mounted large photographs in the exhibition space, edited by cut-out technique, and thus simulated real objects.
Anja Buchheister was born in Wolfenbüttel in 1978, grew up in Schüttorf (Grafschaft Bentheim) and studied communication design in Mannheim and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. There she was a master student of Stephan Huber.
The exhibition will then be shown from 23.10. to 04.12.2016 at the Forum Alte Werft in Papenburg.
