taNDem annually supports cross-border projects in all areas of art and culture (D/NL). These projects are implemented by the German-Dutch tandems in theme years in a debate on current social issues.
The theme of "home", which was set in 2018/19, will be realised by the two artists Grothus and Bergsma in the institutions Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim and the Reichsmuseum Enschede (Netherlands) with an exhibition and an accompanying publication. The starting point of the "Lichtung" project is the fact that the artists' families were once driven from their homeland.
"Lichtung" is a project by Emmy Bergsma [NL] and Sarah Grothus [D] about their family divorced from Verdrijving and Arriveren. Both families are left without having been given the opportunity to leave Thuringia, respectable Indonesia and Silecia. Bergsma en Grothus ask you about the visual concept of 'Thuringia', and start an expedition to places of interest with family and historical roots. The ideas of these people will be translated into two expositions that will be launched at eleven locations.
By stimulating cooperation, taNDem wants to strengthen the art and cultural scene in the border area and build a sustainable, cross-border network. https://www.tandemkunst.eu/
