Lila Mookerjee, work in the courtyard

July / August 2001

The Kunstverein enabled three artists from the region to leave their usual studios. They received new impulses for their work and the opportunity to present themselves to the public.

Lila Mookerjee (Neuenhaus/Breda(NL) is a painter and sculptor. The influences of her teachers Ruprecht Geiger and Gotthard Graubner are meaningfully complemented by the artist's many stays in Asia. Light and colour are her themes. For the courtyard of the Kunstverein she created the 8-part color sculpture "Around Godevari" (G. refers to a tomb in Nepal, which you walk around) with the dimensions 3 x 4 x 4m.

Ferdinand Tesch (Nordhorn), photographed in black and white. After landscape photography he focused on industrial and portrait photography. Within the framework of the "Atelier auf Zeit" he has so far created 30 portrait photographs on the subject of "Man and Animal". His portraits all originate from the Grafschaft area.

Senta Tesch (Nordhorn), has further developed her colored pencil drawing during her working stay. Under the theme "Cuts and Pencils" her working methods and formats changed: Wall drawings, a three-dimensional work and large-format wall objects.

Supported by the city of Neuenhaus and the state of Lower Saxony.
