Moved from memory
Sculptures and objects.
14 September to 4 November 2001
One-year garden project "don't forget the real world", 60 cherry trees in the courtyard. In the interior and exterior spaces Christiane Möbus (*1947) presented "rette sich wer kann" (two lifeboats, each 6 x 2 x 3 m, filled with 300 bales of hay), "moved from memory" (48 lithographs, Reprints of Central European general maps from the years 1912-18), "Kolibri", (9 parts, loaned by the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung) and "don't forget the real world", (60 Vistula cherry trees in the courtyard on 600 sqm).
Möbus represents today's possibilities of sculptural work poetically and precisely explored. In terms of form and content, she constantly develops motifs and forms. Both are situated between the natural and the artificial and combine tragedy with comedy, poetry with sober skepticism about progress, sculptural statics with a dynamic that revolves around itself.
Christiane Möbus is represented in "kunstwegen" with the work "On the one hand, on the other hand".
A catalogue has been published to accompany the exhibition.
