The Dutch artist Wim Bosch presents photo works out of the series "silica", silica valley and playhouses. In Silica valley he shows works that have arisen in the urban space Neuenhaus.

In this exhibition the Dutch artist Wim Bosch shows, in addition to an early work "Rural House" (1992), photographic works from the series "Silica", "Playhouses" and "Silica Valley", which were created between 2012 and 2013. The works "Silica Valley" were created in the urban space of Neuenhaus.
The window has been a popular motif in art for centuries. Images of the "room with a view", in which the window marks the threshold between inside and outside, have always served as a means of reflection on the medium of painting and photography itself. The observation that the view of a picture resembles that through an open window was already written down by Alberti in 1435. In doing so, he created a metaphor that for centuries shaped the idea of a picture, a detail that makes the part of a whole visible.
 Although the window remained a popular pictorial motif in the 20th century, it was increasingly shown in isolation, without any connection to architecture, without a view of a landscape, without a back figure looking longingly into the distance.
