Flight and expulsion constitute a phenomenon that repeats itself throughout the history of mankind.  The exhibition Away From Home at Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim deals with this theme, which has become current once again, and presents works by three Syrian artists. In their works, all three artists refer to the latest events in and around Syria, which have affected them personally. For Ammar Al Beik the emphases are on photography and film. For Khaled Al Saai, the artistic focus is on calligraphy. He realized on site a large work for the wall measuring 10 x 3 meters. Tammam Azzam works with the media of photomontage, digital collage, and graphic prints.

An extensive program of events accompany and promote insights into this exhibition. It  includes refugees who have come to the area.
