Ellen Korth – "Charkow"

Exibition: 14. August  –  04. September 2016
Opening: Sunday, 14 August, 11:30 a.m.

Ellen Korth's work is about the search for the identity of her mother, who fled from Kharkov (Ukraine) via Germany to Holland during the Second World War, hiding her past history until the end and destroying almost all her memorabilia.
This incriminating secret of her mother became the impetus for Ellen Korth's art project Heimat und Identität. In it, she links the search for her motherly origins with current picture series of people in the Netherlands. During her research, she met people who feel bound to their homeland, whether in places, houses and gardens or in happy partnerships.

Part of the exhibition is the publication of the same name with a 7-part work, which is accompanied by an explanatory booklet in German, English and Dutch.
Your book was awarded 2017 by:
International Photobook Awards as 'Best Photobooks' / Los Angeles, Calif. (April 3, 2017) - The competition received photobooks from 16 countries. http://photoindependent.com/2017-international-photobook-award-winners-announced/
