Nino Malfatti was born in Austria in 1940. Mountains and rocks are the subject of the series of works we presented. In European painting, mountains and landscapes were mostly explanatory accessories for the pictorial events. In the 19th century, nature, elevated above human beings, became a subject in its own right. Malfatti's idea to paint exclusively rocks and mountains developed from the reflection of his own painterly work. On the canvas he created worlds of their own laws and sensuousness, which are only externally connected with motif and recognizability.
