In the center of the city of Neuenhaus rests the Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim. This charismatic building was originally constructed as a hotel in 1750 and later repurposed in 1993 as an exhibition space of 600 square meters, along with a spacious, private sculpture garden.
 
Its structure reflects the diversity of modern day artistic practice. For nearly 20 years our participating artisans have been of various international origin, diverse in both age and artistic career level.
 
Each program crosses the boundary of classical discipline, with a strong interest in showing artwork that is not only important for its aesthetic investigation but also for its role as a historical marker in the rapidly changing field of contemporary art. The Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim appreciates artists who work with the space and also enjoy the freedom of experimental creativity.
 
Mediation includes tours, lectures, and discussions with artists, along with special offers for children, school classes, and senior citizens. The Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim is an active member of the AdKV (Association of German Art www.kunstvereine.de). We also publish exhibition catalogs and art books that are available for purchase in-house or online by request.
